For the second layer, both natural and synthetic fillers can be used as insulation. Nevertheless, synthetic materials are used more often in ski pants. They retain their properties for longer. Despite the fact that fluff is natural insulation, it still has a number of significant drawbacks. After several washes, the fluff becomes lumpy and loses its properties. To solve this problem, some manufacturers use special impregnations, which prevent the corrupting of fluff. The third layer (outer layer) is often made of a membrane tissue (in the women's ski pants too). It is a sign of a qualitative model. In some cases, the membrane can consist of several layers. In cheap ski snow pants, impregnations are used which eventually lose their properties.
